This is a great workshop for beginners and practicing artists as Nicola guides you through the process of preparing an image for printing, carving your block and printing multiple artworks.
Whether you just want to enjoy being creative for a few hours, or you want to grow your creative practice, this workshop is for you. It gives you all the skills you need to create multiple prints from one plate without the use of a press or any expensive equipment so you can easily recreate the setup at home and continue the printmaking fun.

Mini Class Details:
Explore the fun of fabric printing in this 2.5 hours workshop. Develop your own design to be turned into a fabric stamp and learn how to create repeating patterns on fabric.

You will be guided through the processes involved and leave with a gorgeous tea towel adorned with your own linocut design (if cakes aren't your thing feel free to bring along your own unique artwork to use) and the lino stamp which you make, can be endlessly reused on tshirts, aprons, totes bags, cards and paper. We will have additional blanks which you can purchase to create more items in class or continue the fun at home!

A little about her work, in Nicola’s own words…

“Living in Australia and South East Asia has influenced my work greatly. I am surrounded by such diverse and beautiful plants and wildlife and that appears increasingly in my work. My process is very organic and comes from sketches of things around me, which translate into drawings, paintings and prints.

In my printmaking practice, I work with wood and linoleum plates carving them with specialist tools before inking them up with a roller and putting them through a press to get the ink onto the paper. The marks the tools make on the block are unique to the practice. It is a thrill to pull a print as there are always unexpected marks natural to that material.

I look forward to seeing you in this workshop at Studio Subi.”
