ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS

DEBORA GREGORIO | PROFESSIONAL MANGA ART ILLUSTRATOR

Debora Gregorio is a professional Manga Art Illustrator based in Perth. She has had a passion for Manga since childhood, professionally drawing manga for the past 12 years. Debora studied manga drawing at the European Manga Academy in Italy, where original manga drawing skills, as those taught in Japanese schools, are taught. Debora has a plethora of experience teaching young kids through to teenagers and adults at various libraries and arts centres around WA. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of Manga creation with those interested in this unique art form.

CONNIE TRINH | STUDIO SUBI

The face behind Studio Subi, Connie is a lover and ambassador of all things handmade.
"Craft has always been my creative outlet, my happy moments, I could spend hours with, even preferred over sleep. I’ve always wished for a dedicated space where I could leave out all my supplies at the ready, but the spaces so far have been small and almost always needed to be packed away for practicality. Recently, an opportunity for space came up and I jumped for it!"
And so Studio Subi was born! A creative space for all to use and there’ll be workshops/classes by amazing creative teachers. Such as art, sewing, photography, jewellery, design, and more!

My favourite origami to create is the classic crane, I've made over 1000! Once I made 200 to raise money for Cancer Council of WA.

THEA MANDIN | STUDENT AND ORIGAMI ENTHUSIAST

Théa started folding origami last year for fun, and really enjoyed it. Shortly after, she began making more complex designs such as dragons and parrots.
As her interest grew, so did her collection of origami papers. She experimented with different sizes, colours, and textures. Her interest continues and Théa is self-learning through origami books and video tutorials.
"I am excited to have this opportunity to share my passion in origami." says Théa. We are excited to have Théa at Studio Subi too!

SANNY ANG | ORIGAMI DESIGNER, INVENTOR OF THE ZOOMERANG

An origami professional, with over 50 years of experience folding + teaching origami, Sanny famously invented the Zoomerang in 1991, an origami plane that flies a loop then lands back in your hand. Sanny peppers his origami explanations with puns, fun facts and stories, which keep everyone thoroughly engaged. Seeing Sanny's passion for origami is truly inspiring.

JAMES HOLDSWORTH | SPEEDCUBER + SPEEDCUBING AUSTRALIA DELEGATE

James started cubing for a hobby around 10 years ago. The hobby turned into a passion, with James continuing to fine tune his technique and improving on records at cubing competitions. Now a delegate of Speedcubing Australia, James is a regular in the local circuits. We're delighted to have James join Studio Subi to share his skills with eager students.
