About this class:

In this workshop, we will draw, colour, then students can choose to either stitch or continue their illustration and further decorate, a piece of art that will express a positive affirmation (statement or phrase) to hang in their special space and help brighten their outlook on the world. 


We will spend the morning focusing on negative vs positive self-talk and further developing their growth mindset with scenario discussions and an emphasis on positive words and phrases. 


In the afternoon, students will design and create their own positive affirmation by using a variety of artistic mediums and simple stitches.


Knowledge required:

This fun workshop is for all skill levels. No experience needed.


What you’ll get: 

Elise from On The Bright Side Youth Coaching and Hoop Hoop Hooray will engage your young people for the entire day as she facilitates thoughtful and practical discussions and activities, with some great fun and laughs along the way. 


All materials and equipment will be supplied and students will take home their finished piece, as well as the growth mindset activities they’ve completed during the workshop.  

What to bring: 

Students need to bring their own water bottle, morning tea, a nut-free lunch and their positive selves. Or even if they’re not feeling positive, there is a power to the use of uplifting language to improve mindset. 


Suitable for:

This is a fun indoor activity, suitable for kids (aged 8 - 13). 

Adult accompaniment is not required.​​

Elise is a Coach and Mentor for Tweens, Teens and Young Adults, focusing on the personal development of your awesome young people. She’s there to offer a safe place to chat, give support and encouragement and specialises in gratitude, kindness, healthy relationships, stress, self-care, dealing with change, body appreciation and embracing individuality.

Elise is also a teacher's assistant making her a natural in teaching children in her classes. With her passion for hand embroidery, Elise has taught kids in this age old art. Her classes have included cute llamas, dinosaurs and unicorns and we're very excited to have Elise launch her new Koala design with us. 

This mindfulness class is a curation of Elise's breadth of passions and skills, creating the perfect fusion to engage young minds.


Please note that once booked, tickets are non-rufundable. You may however transfer your ticket to another paticiapant. Should a workshop be cancelled due to Covid restrictions your workshop will be rescheduled or you will be given a 12 month credit to rebook when we reopen.
